Early morning run, temp 70'

Yesterdays 8 mile run was a good one.  I felt good the entire way and felt like I could just keep going.  I'm going to scout camp this afternoon and didn't want to have to run tomorrow morning so I did my long run this morning.  Anyway, I was hoping the feeling would last of being able to just keep running.  It was working for about 8 miles then my lack of training started to show.  My hips felt like they needed to be oiled.  Near the end my legs started getting tired and the pain started to increase.  The last mile, which was the most painful, was also the slowest.  I was way glad to be done.

Have fun at scout camp Terry. Make sure to eat lots of bacon and hashbrowns that ought to oil up the hips good :)

So have you thought much about Provo River and what approach your going to take for the race? I wish I had a better feel for the course (which is changed again), I'm just not sure what is a reasonable time/pace to shoot for.

Tom, if scout candy oils the hips then I'm good for a week or two.

Anyway, about the Provo half, the last two years I've run it in 2005 & 2006 I got a 1:25:37, and a 1:25:01. So I have two goals. To beat any 1983 graduates from Manti High and beat 1:25.

Therefor Tom, I think you should shoot for a 1:24:59

Terry I was actually thinking of going for a sub 1:24. But perhaps that's a bit optimistic. Since it's a new course anyway I guess we're just blowing smoke trying to figure out what pace to run. At any rate I'll be watching out for you around mile 12 or so.....:)
