Morning run, rainy, temp. 48'

Our Wasatch Back relay team had a team run up Butterfield Canyon.  We had 7 members show up which I though was great considering the weather.

I ran with James and Brian.  Brian was only doing 4 miles and James and I were doing 10 miles.  Brian and James were going much faster than I'd have chosen but I decide to stay with them knowing it would only last for two miles.  After Brian turned back I slowed down plenty. James didn't like the slow pace but he didn't have much of a choice because he'd never been up the canyon and didn't have a Garmin.  James is 18 and on Bingham High track team. As we turned around to go back down the canyon James took a pit stop and I kept going.  He caught me with 1 mile left.  He was doing 4:55 mile avg. when he passed me.  I decided to keep up and after about a half a mile I was done but James's shoe came untied so I slowed way down and with about a quarter mile left James caught me again and the fast speed was on again.

I did about 8:45's up the canyon and about 6:25's down with the last mile in 5:45.

Taunia even came and did 5 miles in 55:00

Time 1:15:50,  Mile avg. - 7:35
