Noon run, sunny, breezy, temp. 80'

In 2005 I ran a total of 775 miles, in 2006 I ran 850 miles and so far in 2007 I've run 1035 miles and I still have 4 months left.  I don't have any races planned but I think I'm going to start winding down as fall and winter approches.  I, however, always need to be in good enough shape to beat Tom in a race up to 1/2 marathon even if I decide to decrease my miles.

Today after a couple days of rest I finally felt good on a run.  After the 1st mile I decided to run a mile under 6 minutes to see if I really was feeling good.  I did the 2nd mile in 5:40.

Time 36:24,  Mile Avg. - 7:00

Whats a matter Terry? Willing to concede any races greater than 1/2 marathon distance to me? Makes me want to sign up for TOU marathon and issue the challenge.

Better watch out Terry I'm thinking of training hard thru the coming winter...what would it feel like if you had to be looking at my ugly behind at the end of some race....? Don't slack too much or it could happen.

You're getting pretty fast, Tom, but I'm afraid we might have to form a relay team to beat Terry. With Terry running 5:40 miles, I'm not even sure how successful a relay challenge would be.

(Tom, I'm trying to use flattery to get Terry over confident. If the hare gets over confident and a little lazy over the winter, the tough training tortoise may just have a chance.)

Paul & Tom,

Even if I lower my miles some, I'll be watching the blog to make sure that you two aren't getting to fast. I have no intention of watching your ugly behind at the end of a race.
