Noon run, sunny, breezy, temp. 85'

I was planning on doing a 3 mile tempo run this morning but I got to bed to late and needed my beauty sleep so I ran it at lunch time in the heat.  I ran a mile at about 8:00 minute pace and then I ran a mile in 5:59 with a 3 minute jog break before the next mile in 5:58 with a 45 second job break then a 5:49 mile.  The third fast mile took a lot of mental effort to keep up the pace.  The last couple of miles were about 8 minute pace.

Time 52:23,  Mile Avg. - 7:17

Dang Terry if I'm going to continue my pattern of running 45 seconds slower than you on similar runs I can see I need to speed up my tempo runs to under 6:30!

Tom

I'm shooting for 5:59's, mostly because any time I get under 6:00 I feel like I've really done something. Add 45 seconds to that and you have 6:44's not 6:30's, unless you are trying to catch up to me and then I'll have to start running 5:45's

I think the jetlag is affecting my math skills and also making me post my comments twice. 6:44 sounds much more reasonable. But of course I have to do them in the heat.
