Noon run, sunny, some wind, Temp 55'

Nice day for a run.  When I ran hard today I didn't notice my left hip.  After a mile warm up I ran a 5:43 mile then took a 3 minute jog break and ran a 5:47 mile then costed the rest of the way.  Amazing that my fast runs are a minute/mile slower than Haile's whole marathon average.

Time 35:10,  Mile avg. - 6:54

Glad to hear the hip is feeling better Terry. Nice job on the fast miles, I hope I see the day when I can start putting 5's in front of my mile splits. But I'm thinking I just might be getting to where I'm 30 seconds behind you on stuff instead of 45.

That Haile dude (and all those African dudes) are amazing. It will be quite the event someday when one of those guys breaks a 2-hour marathon.

Terry we might both regret not having done SGM this year. The lastest reports show ideal weather conditions with possibly a 20 mph tailwind. If this pans out we should see some smokin' fast times.

I agree. We should have run SGM. Every year I've run SG the highs are between 85-89. It is not fair that they will have a day in the low 70's for a high. However, this year I've learned a lot about running and I think I'll be much more prepared to train for a marathon next year.

By the way Tom, It use to be that you were a minute plus per mile over my pace, then it was 1 minute, then 45, now 30. It is making me a little nervous, however, it is a good thing because I don't think I slack off near as much this winter knowing you are right behind me.

That's right Terry...no slacking....be afraid....be very afraid.
