8:00AM start to the race. Wind and Light snow. Temp. 32-35

It was good to see some familiar faces at the starting line. For the first half mile Paul, Tom and I ran together, then Paul let us go. I ran with Tom for 5 or 6 miles then set out on my own. My goal was to get under 1:30 and beat my good friend Tom. At mile 9 I look back and Tom was still in sight so I ran mile 10 in 6:34 finally putting some distance between me and Tom.

By miles 12 and 13 my brain was telling me to slow down and I was having a hard time remembering why I even like running. Running hard hurts but I over-rode my evil thoughts and kept pushing.

You're as awesome as ever, Terry. Way to race tough. You have mad swag grabbing skills, too.

You said, "Running hard hurts but I over-rode my evil thoughts and kept pushing." I've found that the strength and ability you showed to overcome adversity and keep pushing helps with all aspects of life. I know it has been a great blessing to my life.

Sheesh, good job! I think I started with you guys and heard you talking but it didn't take long for you to totally smoke me. Good race!

Running hard does hurt, doesn't it? Great job, though.

Nice job old man! I never cease to be amazed at what you can do on minimal training. That 6:34 mile 10 (when you squashed all my hopes of catching you!!), 6:41 mile 11 and 6:09 mile 13 are especially impressive.

Maybe you should consider the UV marathon depending on how the next few weeks go?
