It was a perfect day for the Provo River Half Marathon.  The temperature was probably around 50' at the start.  Cold for standing and waiting but great for running.  It was nice seeing some running friends before and after the race.  The Lee's are pretty cool people.

Anyway, I decided that I would run at 1:25 half marathon pace or stay with Tom Lee which ever was faster. I stayed with Tom for about 3 or 4 miles then he slowly let me inch my way ahead of him.

Mile 1 - 6:18,  Mile 2 - 6:17,  Mile 3 - 6:23

Mile 4 - 6:14,  Mile 5 - 6:39,  Mile 6 - 6:29

Mile 7 - 6:47,  Mile 8 - 6:48,  Mile 9 - 6:29

Mile 10 - 6:15, Mile 11 - 6:36, Mile 12 - 6:34

Mile 13 - 6:14

I didn't warm up enough because the 1st mile was hard.  My legs didn't want to run and I was getting worried that this wasn't going to be a good race, but then I started to feel like a runner again and I knew things would be fine.  The race went well and with 5 miles left I thought I'd push just a little harder.  It worked for a few miles but then I started feeling tired and my mind kept telling me to slow down.  I kinda listened to that lazy guy and slowed down.  However, with a mile left I realized that I could break 1:25 and I push hard again and realized that I wasn't as tired as that lazy guy was telling me.

Good race Terry. Way to kick it in at the end.

(You should encourage Tom to re-enable his blog.)

Nice run, and the Lees are cool.
