I ran with Eric, he always makes me go harder than I would.  The hurricane force winds slowed us downs to 8:10's.

My heel hurt worse this morning than ever.  Darn heel!  I'll ice it and see if that helps.

After not running the last couple of days due to heavy work load it felt really good to run again and get some of the stress off.  Unfortunatley my heel is still bugging me.

Another good long run and my longest run of the year.  If I could get my left heel to quit hurting I'd be much happier about my running.

Nice and dark this morning due to daylight not-savings time.  I decided to run one mile at what I thought should be half marathon pace.  It felt great for the first half a mile then it got a little harder towards the end.  I can see I haven't run enough at the faster pace or I'm not in the shape I'm hopeing to get into by April 4th.

The near full moon did a great job this morning.  I pushed one mile at HMP or faster getting a 6:45.  It never feels as easy as I think it should.  My body likes 7:45's much better.

No run.  Hurt my lower back playing basketball last night.  Hopefully, the pain will go away sooner than later, but for now I can't even walk without pain let alone running.

The back is still hurting.  Just tried to get out without getting re-injured. I'm running a little different due to the pain.  Hope it won't flare up an injury somewere else.  I was glad to be done.  It's no fun feeling pain every step.

I was hoping to get some good weeks in before the Provo City half.  But I'll just be glad to finish at this point. This should make an interesting race between me and Tom.

I wrapped my back with an ace bandage and went for a jog.  I started slow but realized the back pain wasn't any worse when I picked up the pace except going down hill, so I picked up the pace.  My back is feeling better every day.

Afternoon run, sunny, very windy, temp. 70'

I played in a ward basketball region game at 11:30 AM and we went into overtime and lost.  I had a lot of energy but my shoting wasn't on.  So what better to do before our stake conference leadership meeting at 4PM then do a 10 mile jog.  The jog went well and I decided to do the last mile at half marathon pace.  After .65 miles into it my left quad started cramping.  I had to stop and let it rest.  That doesn't give me a great assurance that I can run a half marathon in two weeks.

The back is almost all better.

Felt much better than yesterday.  Since I haven't been doing any kind of speed due to to many injuries I decided to do one mile at HMP. I think my body might be ready to do some HMP tempo runs.  My tendon-bum-itis is still around but mild.

I decided it was time to see if I could run under 7 minute miles.  I accomplished the goal but I didn't feel smooth.  I felt like I was pushing the pace to much and my legs wouldn't flow with ease.  I guess I need to do more faster running.

Half the run was nice, the other half was hard.

I signed up for the Riverton Half on Saturday.  Hope the wind dies down for the race.

Riverton half, mostly sunny, very windy, temp. 35-40

I realy enjoyed the course. I liked that it was only 10 minutes from my home. To bad the wind had to blow so hard. I held back a little because I'm going to run another half marathon next week and I didn't know what kind of shape I was in due to the lack of speed work I've been doing. The race was much more enjoyable holding back just a little. The last two miles I decided to let loose and really run. My tendon-bum-itis didn't like that to much.

It was good seeing RivertonPaul, Walter, Shimelle and husband, Peggy and I think Annette Lynnette that was running with her. Miles are as follows

1 - 6:44 I ran with Peggy & Lynnette for the first 3 miles.  They were the perfect pace so I wouldn't go out to fast.

2 - 6:56

3 - 7:09 20:48

4 - 7:02

5 - 7:16 Against the wind miles 5-8

6 - 7:40 42:46

7 - 7:33 The desire to really kick into the next gear and push hard was still there in my old age.  I suppressed it until the last two miles.  I need to get into better shape before I can really push a half marathon like I want to.

8 - 7:35

9 - 6:51 1:04:45

10- 7:15

11- 6:48

12- 6:29 1:25:17

13- 6:13 Down hill

13.1 - 1:32:22          Mile avg. - 7:03  10th overall, 3rd in Age Div.

Today was a recovery run.  The tendon-bum-itis didn't like me running a half marathon Saturday.  I'll have to be nice to my legs and stretch a little more.
